What is a Whoopie Pie?
A Whoopie Pie (which is also sometimes known as a Gob, or a Big Oreo) is a baked good, made of two cake-like cookies, with a sweet, creamy filling sandwiched between them. The cookies are not as dense as a brownie, yet not as fluffy as actual cake; rather they are somewhere in between the two.
Traditional Whoopie Pies are chocolate with vanilla filling, but over the years, many new flavors have been created, such as pumpkin with cream cheese filling, which is a seasonal favorite. These treats are very generously sized (about the size of a hamburger), and sometimes even larger.
